Carpet tile is inherently lower in waste than traditional broadloom carpeting helping in landfill diversion, but why stop there?

Our story has two main parts, backing and fiber.

Green By Design

GreenPlus Cushion Back

GreenPlus replaces 90% of the petroleum based polymers normally found in polyurethane backings.  This is accomplished by the use of domestically grown soybeans.

RecoverCelceram, a highly refined material recovered from the process of coal combustion adds increased dimensional stability to our backing.

Reuse—Both our GreenPlus backing and our PET fiber incorporate post-consumer recycled PET plastic bottles.

Refresh—GreenPlus helps keep the air refreshing with low VOC levels.  GreenPlus qualifies for one credit towards LEED air quality certification.

Re-grow—The soy used in GreenPlus is a rapidly renewable resource and helps to reduce CO2 from the atmosphere.

PET vs Nylon

PermaClean PET Fiber

PermaClean PET uses over 30% less petroleum than nylon helping to reduce dependence on foreign energy supply.

PET is more resistant to abrasion (fiber loss) than nylon in a similar construction.

PermaClean is inherently permanently stain resistant while nylon must be treated.

PET exhibits less static build up than nylon.

Moisture absorption of PET is reduced over 80% compared to nylon assisting in the inhibition of bacteria growth.

PermaClean fiber consists of high twist yarns for durability and appearance retention.

Both can be produced from recycled materials; however, PET can be de-polymerized and produced into recycled PET carpet fiber, while nylon is often down cycled into other industries.

The oil byproduct used in the production of PET is waste from the oil refinery process.
